Ideas for a bund cell

Notes and thoughts
This is not my first attempt at making a local Jewish antizionist group. When I began protesting I met some Jewish local men who also protested regularly for Gaza. They had some contacts too, so we decided, to try to make a local Jewish antizionist action group.

In preparation for the first meeting, I researched for different frameworks we could join, like JVP, or informal groups like derbund.org. As well as book recommendations for education.

At our first meeting we got to see each other face to face, about 8 people. All middle aged or older, and after a few conversations, liberal. though the conversations I realized that this group was just turning into a book club. And that is what it became. Maybe I should have stayed, but I did not have the capacity at the time.

I might have no group still, but I was more aware of bund philosophy, and had made myself a reading list.

I am currently trying to create a local Bund cell. But have no real leads. So decided to make a flyer, spreading it around town. in the most visible places. If one is removed, I replace it. And while waiting I get to think on what this group should look like.

  • Palestinian Solidarity. Unconditional.
  • Diasporism or Hereness (דאָיִקייט)
  • Yiddish, I need to learn too, we must celebrate the heritage that Zionism erased. Language, culture, history, and philosophy.
  • Education, reading and learning about relevant issues to the bund
  • Growth, spreading flyers/stickers. hopefully within a year, every jew in the local area will be aware of us.
  • Action or Tikun Olam (תיקון עולם)

I will keep getting involved in the community and spreading leaflets. Hopefully this groups works.
